» Welcome to Team Picard Distributed Computing! |
|
Thanks for stopping by Team Picard Distributed Computing and visiting!
We're a friendly bunch of people who got together as team competing in the SETI distributed computing project. Since then our community has grown, and we hang out in the lounge, tell our best jokes, we talk about computers and their problems in our hardware and software forums, and share our photos in the gallery with monthly contests.
At our heart, we are still a competitive Distributed Computing team. If you aren't familar, just ask and we will tell you everything you need to know. These days we compete in every BOINC project we can find including Climate Prediction.net (CPDN), Einstein@home, LHC@home, Predictor@home; Rosetta@home, and of course SETI@Home. That's not all though, we participate in independent projects too, like Drug Design and Optimization Lab (D2OL)™, or Folding@Home. There are many others too, and they almost all help researchers solve some of the toughest problems we face today.
Come on in, register and introduce yourself in the New Members area, we love the company, and can always use more help! This is a great place to spend some free time, we hope you stay a while.
Special Team Picard News!
As, a side note, we would like to give a special congratulations to one of our Team Picard members, Mackerel. He recently submitted the work that "discovered" a prime number. Its the 22nd largest Prime currently proven to exist. See the thread for more information and links to the RieselSieve Project.

As the players from 34 countries will be lining up sometime next month - all being well - and they assume the position for the off, I thought it might not be out of place to remind those 'physicists' amongst us what will be the going ons at CERN
Neutralino, chargino, gravitino, gluino, graviton, slepton, sfermion and quark. No this is not a role call of alien names in the forthcoming Star trek film - well apart from Quark. They are types of an exotic brand of particle predicted by... [Read More]
